Central bank says annual CPI can continue to grow until 2021

MOSCOW, Oct 12 (PRIME) -- Russia's annual inflation can continue to grow until the end of 2020 from September's 3.67%, the central bank said in a statement on Monday.

"The annual inflation figure can continue to rise until the beginning of 2021 due to the base effect," the central bank said.

Heterogeneity of prices in various groups of goods can remain elevated. The weakening of the ruble and toughening of restrictions against the pandemic can affect prices, but subdued demand will be a disinflationary factor, the central bank said.
